AI agents for students

Work for less time, but better: your sources summarized and cited, your review material turned into quizzes, your presentations assembled in minutes, and a language practiced every day.

Four agents, linked in the order we recommend adopting them — each one points to its full profile, with its setup and guardrails.

Step 1 — Query your sources instead of rereading them ten times

What it solves: you upload your classes, PDFs, and articles; it answers your questions while citing your own sources, and can even make an audio summary to listen to in transit.

💰 €0/month with a free Google account (up to ~€22/month for the Pro version with more capacity). Level: Easy

See the full profile: “My notes and documents are scattered everywhere; I can’t find my way around them” →

Step 2 — Turn your classes into active review

What it solves: your notes and documents become flashcards and practice quizzes — you move from passive rereading to active recall, the kind that really works on exams.

💰 $0 to ~$5/month (a very generous free version to start). Level: Easy

See the full profile: “I reread my classes for hours without retaining anything” →

Step 3 — Build your presentation without starting from a blank page

What it solves: from your outline or notes, it generates a structured, formatted presentation; all that remains is to add your words and examples.

💰 $0 to $20/month (the free plan is enough for occasional use). Level: Easy

See the full profile: “I have to give a presentation tomorrow and I’m starting from zero” →

Step 4 — Practice a language every day, without a partner

What it solves: an AI conversation partner available at any hour that chats, corrects you, and adapts to your level — daily consistency without feeling like you are bothering someone.

💰 $0 to ~$15/month (free version to get started). Level: Easy

See the full profile: “I’m learning English but I have no one to practice with” →

A realistic total budget

To get started: $0/€0. NotebookLM is free with a Google account, Knowt and Talkpal start free, and Gamma’s free plan is enough for occasional use: all four steps fit a zero budget.

Ceiling if everything becomes paid: about $40/month + €0 to ~€22/month (Knowt up to ~$5 + Gamma up to $20 + Talkpal up to ~$15 + optional NotebookLM Pro up to ~€22). In practice, a student will choose at most one subscription — most often Knowt during exam periods — and keep the rest free.

Recommended adoption order

Start with NotebookLM, because everything starts with your sources: once your classes are centralized and searchable for free, review (Knowt) becomes almost automatic. Add Knowt as exams approach, Gamma on the day a presentation comes up, and Talkpal as a daily thread for languages — 10 minutes a day is better than a monthly marathon.
