English pilot — the directory is mainly in French for now.

Our method

Le Répertoire des Agents is not a catalog of tools: it's a directory of problems. This page explains how we build our profiles — and how you can check for yourself what we put forward.

1. Start from the problem, not the tool

Every profile starts with a sentence you could say: “I lose 40 minutes a day sorting my emails”, “Bookkeeping steals my weekends”. We then look for the agent that solves that precise problem, we describe its setup step by step, and we say who it is for — and who it is not for. If a tool doesn't clearly solve an everyday problem, it doesn't get a profile.

2. Prices checked, and dated

Prices move fast in the AI agent world. When we have reread a price on the publisher's official pricing page, the profile shows it with a “Price checked on [date]” badge. Without that badge, treat the price as an estimate to be confirmed with the publisher. And when a publisher doesn't publish its prices — quote only — we say so, instead of inventing a figure.

3. Honest costs and limits

“Free” means free: we distinguish the permanent free plan from the time-limited free trial — they are not the same thing, and our badges keep them separate. We show the full ranges rather than just the headline price, and we point out what the sales pages pass over in silence: usage limits, costs that rise with volume, features reserved for higher plans.

4. Guardrails, on every profile

An AI agent acts in your emails, your files or your accounts: that is never trivial. Every profile therefore ends with concrete guardrails — start read-only, work on copies, cap the spending, keep a human in the loop for sensitive actions. A tool presented without limits would be a poorly presented tool.

5. How an agent gets into the directory — and what we turn down

An agent does not get into the directory just because it exists, or because it offers us a commission. It gets in by passing the same criteria for everyone:

And we do turn tools down — it happens:

6. Affiliate links: the rules of the game

Some links on the site are affiliate links. They are flagged with the words “affiliate link”, and a legal notice appears in the footer: if you subscribe through these links, Le Répertoire des Agents may receive a commission — at no extra cost to you. Active programs as of today: Metricool, Beehiiv, Predis, Cal.com, Opus Clip, Make, vidIQ, Coursebox, Fyxer and Manatal. This rule changes neither the choice of tools nor the content of the profiles: a tool is recommended because it solves the problem, not because it pays a commission — and most profiles have no affiliate link at all.
